Flyn is a big feartie. In Scotland, feartie means a coward or timid person, certainly someone who does not have much courage. Flyn is definitely not brave. In fact, he is scared of almost everything and everyone. He is scared of the dark, he jumps at loud noises, he hides from strange shadows and is generally unhappy at trying anything new. He hates to be embarrassed. He doesn’t like the dentist and he is quite unsure about going to school! He finds it hard to make friends and they often call him Feartie Flyn.
